are small superficial blood vessels that
appear red or blue in the skin. They commonly
occur on the legs, but are also found on the face or
other areas of the body.
These dilated blood vessels may be short,
unconnected lines, each about the size of a large
hair, or connected in a “sunburst” pattern. They
may look like a spider web or a tree with branches.
Spider veins can cover a large area of skin and be
very unattractive.
West U Aesthetics offers several options for getting
rid of your spider veins. During a consultation,
you will be advised as to a custom treatment
plan necessary to achieve desired results. A
combination of IPL, laser and sclerotherapy may
be recommended. |

are enlarged, twisted, painful superficial
veins resulting from poorly functioning valves. In normal
veins, valves in the vein keep blood moving forward
toward the heart. With varicose veins, the valves do
not function properly, allowing blood to remain in the
vein. Pooling of blood in a vein causes it to enlarge. This
process usually occurs in the veins of the legs, although
it may occur elsewhere. Varicose veins are common,
affecting both women and men.
For patients with varicose veins, a screening Duplex
Ultrasound is provided, at no cost, to look for evidence
of blood refluxing due to incompetent valves.
Treatment of large varicose veins is performed with stateof-
the-art, minimally invasive techniques. We no longer
perform the cosmetically displeasing vein stripping used
in the past. Instead, we two new techniques known as
Closure® and CoolTouch® Laser.
